Venus Trading was conceived in 1982 in Whitby, North Yorkshire in the UK. In the beginning Venus traded from a small shell stall on the quay side selling shell crafts and jewellery. Over the last 30 years the family run business has relocated, expanded, diversified and introduced truely inspiring ranges, including: wooden carvings and statues, furniture, clothing, homeware, textiles, metalware, cards, toys, silver & Whitby Jet Jewellery, Gothic clothing & accessories and ethnic handicrafts. All this has built upon the unique atmosphere of our very popular retail shop, and spiritual home on Sandgate in Whitby.

In 2003 Venus Trading pushed into new territories by starting to source our own products from Thailand, Indonesia and Nepal. We now manufacture our own jewellery, clothes and accessories and our product range is now more diverse and interesting than ever. Today the company is proud to say it imports around 80% of its stock directly from small manufacturers and crafts people abroad and we subscribe to the principals of Fair Trade.
